We worked up example economic information to use when comparing Conventional and Advanced Production Systems/Open Hydroponics groves. It's in two forms, a spreadsheet that you can download and use to perform "what-if" comparisons, or as a pdf file with our basic figures that you can just print out and contemplate. |

New! Hydrogen Peroxide injection calculator Download here: Arapaho Hydrogen Peroxide Calculator Hydrogen peroxide is by far the cheapest alternative for keeping the drip lines cleaned. There are two types of injection, a 15 ppm maintenance dose that's applied frequently, and a 500 ppm shock treatment that's applied every couple of months. The frequency of each will be determined by your water quality. Hydrogen peroxide is available in a number of different concentrations, so the calculator allows you to enter the concentration and flow characteristics of your system. With small systems, the dosing rate can be so low that you need to dilute the hydrogen peroxide with water (make sure it's clean water in a clean container). There's an option for that in the calculator, too. Let us know if you find this tool useful, and if you have any ideas for improvements. |
